Our Board of Management

Alan Soutar
Alan Soutar has been a member of the SLH Management Committee (now Board of Management from November 2024) since 2016, and Chair since 2019.
He has held various senior positions at Director and Managing Director level in the housing and land development industries, both in Australia and New Zealand. His experience includes corporate governance and finance, and he has been appointed to a number of advisory boards addressing innovation and development within the building industry. He has also been the principal of his own building and development company.
He holds degree qualifications in civil engineering and economics and completed an MBA in 1980.

Nicholas Allton
Nicholas Allton is a C-suite legal, governance, risk and compliance executive at an ASX100 company.
Nicholas has more than 30 years’ experience, including 11 years in private legal practice at top-tier firms in Australia and London, and 20 years’ experience in senior legal and risk roles in Australian financial services and discretionary consumer goods companies.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of Arts and Master of Laws, and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Terry Ringland
Terry became a member of the Board of Management on 22nd June 2026. Terry is a Chartered Accountant with more than 50 years professional, tax and business experience. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Tax Institute of Australia and is a member of other related professional organisations. His background in professional practice has meant that he has had involvement in the business, tax and personal affairs of a broad range of individuals and businesses. For 15 years he was a partner in a well respected firm in the city subsequently branching out on his own to run his own successful practice in 2001. He took on a partner in 2021 and after many years in practice is now looking to lighten his practice commitments and put his experience and work ethic into helping the disadvantaged and other worthwhile charitable causes.

Scott McIntyre
Scott has been a member of SLH Board of Management since November 2024.
A passionate and high energy business executive experienced in spearheading growth, retention and change-management strategies.
Engaged at grass-roots to C-suite level with a sales strategy principal based on understanding the basics extremely well – key being the sales funnel, follow-up and conversion. Leadership style that encompasses engaging the team, empowering individuals to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly goals. A focus on the basics (1%ers), holding individuals and himself accountable to achieve success. Involving the team in creating the vision and the “how” to create the plan to achieve.
Scott is the Chief Executive Officer of AutoSmart Australia & New Zealand overseeing Franchisee and Sales portfolios. AutoSmart is the market leader in the manufacture and supply of professional cleaning and workshop products for vehicle, transport and related industries.

Ross Johnston
Ross is a senior finance and operations executive with global experience across retail, commercial, and institutional banking. He has held CFO and COO roles in Australia, the UK, Europe, and the Pacific, and is known for leading major transformation programs, strengthening governance, and supporting sustainable growth.
Alongside his corporate career, Ross is deeply committed to the not-for-profit sector. He has served on the boards of Milk Crate Theatre and Green Collect, contributed to the Westpac Foundation, and worked in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through Jawun.
Ross brings a strong belief in values-driven leadership and community-led change. At SLH, he supports trauma-informed, culturally safe governance and helps ensure our financial systems and strategy are aligned with our mission to provide safe housing and holistic support for young people.

Tony Mitchell
Tony has been a member of the SLH Management Committee (now Board of Management from November 2024) since November 2021.
Tony is a Chartered Accountant with an excess of 30 years professional and business experience. Working for PriceWaterhouse Coopers and predecessor firms, his professional career in practice spanned audit, corporate restructuring and insolvency, business valuation and M&A due diligence services.
For the last 15 years, Tony has been providing finance function expertise to business owners/entrepreneurs.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance) from University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of both Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Stacey Vice
Stacey joined the SLH Board of Management in November 2025. She is currently the National Operations Manager at the Property Industry Foundation, where she supports strategic operations across Australia, including governance processes, HR and culture initiatives, board and committee support, national events, and community fundraising.
Stacey brings more than 20 years of experience in office, facilities, and community management across both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Her previous roles include senior operational and event management positions across Australia and in San Francisco. She studied a Bachelor of Arts (International Studies major) at UniSA.
Outside of work she volunteers regularly, providing emergency relief and support in her local community, and enjoys spending time with her family.

Cemine Sezgin
Cemine brings deep expertise in growth and marketing strategy, with a strong focus on community building and inclusive engagement. She takes a whole-of-journey approach to communications ensuring that every touchpoint with young people, families, and supporters is thoughtful, consistent, and aligned with SLH’s mission.
She is a data-informed strategist who balances big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery. Whether developing a long-term engagement plan or launching a digital campaign, Cemine is skilled at turning strategy into action and leading teams, contractors, and freelancers to deliver results.
Cemine is passionate about meaningful, community-led change. She values diversity, collaboration, and psychological safety, and brings a strengths-based approach to her work with the SLH Board—helping to grow our reach, deepen our impact, and amplify the voices of young people.

Samantha Groth
Samantha Groth joined the SLH Board in November 2025. She is passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect, learn and feel supported in their communities. She works in local government, leading library and arts programs that bring people together through creativity, culture, and inclusion.
Samantha has a background in communications, community engagement and program management across the arts and government sectors and holds an Executive Master of Strategic Communication from the University of Technology Sydney. She brings to the St Laurence House Board her expertise in strategic planning, public engagement, and advocacy for young people.
She is proud to support the work of St Laurence House and its commitment to helping young people build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.

Patricia Clifford
Patricia joined SLH Board of Management in February 2025. Patricia is a retired Human Resources Manager and is enjoying spending time with her pets, gardening, travelling, going to the movies and she is also a verger with Christ Church St Laurence.
Patricia also volunteers at St Joan of Arc Age Care facility at Haberfield where she takes one of her dogs to spend time with the residents.
Patricia holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Industrial Relations, a MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling.
Patricia has worked in Australia and New Zealand for some large organisations and has also worked in the NSW Public Service and with a Charity.
Our Operations Team

Nikki Butterfield
Nikki has been in the Youth Sector for over 20 years, with 15 years’ experience in Specialist Homelessness Services.
Nikki has extensive experience in providing case management to young people including working in targeted early intervention with family restoration.
Nikki previous employment includes managing Southern Sydney Youth Refuge and working as the Child, Youth & Family at Project Youth.
Employed as the Residential Team Leader at St Laurence House since December 2021, Nikki supported the service through the ASES accreditation process, and participating in the continual quality improvement in service delivery.

Maddy Ryan
Maddy joined the St Laurence Team in 2023 as a case worker.
Prior to this, Maddy has experience working in the education system with young people with disabilities and has spent the last 2.5 years working within the Specialist Homelessness Service The Girls Refuge in youth work and case management.
Maddy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies and Sociology (2019), a Certificate IV in Youth Work (2020) and a Master of Social Work (2022).

Kellie Otes
Kellie is an administration professional with years of experience within the non-profit sector.
She is passionate about contributing to the supportive atmosphere of St Laurence House, that helps young people develop and flourish.

Anne Soares
Anne is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and community support, she is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals.
With a Diploma in Community Services (Case Management) and background as a Residential Youth Worker at Southern Sydney Youth Refuge (SSYR), Anne has demonstrated a deep commitment to providing essential support and guidance to those in need.
During her tenure as a Residential Youth Worker, Anne undertook a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety, well-being, and successful transition of youth facing homelessness or at-risk situations.
In addition to her direct support work, Anne has facilitated invaluable living skills workshops on topics such as nutrition and cooking, equipping her clients with practical tools for
independent living.
In recent years Anne pivoted to supporting women and youth as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach.
As a Martial Arts Instructor and Coach, Anne led classes with enthusiasm providing self-defence strategies for children, youth and adults alike. Her commitment to personalised training programs has helped countless students achieve their unique goals and improve their skills on the mat.
Most importantly, she was helping her students build essential life skills such as resilience, problem solving, performing under pressure, conflict resolution, the importance of being persistent and empowering individuals to thrive not just on the mats, but in life.
With a diverse skill set encompassing martial arts instruction, youth support services, and community engagement, Anne continues to inspire and uplift those around her, leaving a lasting positive impact on the lives of others.
