Student placements

Students are essential to the day-to-day running of SLH Youth Services.
We actively encourage students to complete their placement requirements at SLH Youth Services. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to put their theoretical skills to practical use in the workplace.
We ensure students are getting hands on work experience by assisting with the current programs in place for our young people.
Program assistance includes:
- Cooking
- Budgeting
- Grocery shopping
- Sporting activities
- Healthy eating and menu planning
- Stress-reducing activities e.g. meditation and yoga
Students are shown the importance of case management and given an opportunity to write up daily case notes, under the supervision of our team leaders. Students can sit in on case meetings to experience the goal setting and personal development sessions we offer to our young people. Throughout the placement, students will receive feedback on their progression.
To apply for a student placement, students must contact our Service Manager, Nikki Butterfield Nikki@stlaurencehouse.org.au for more information.
